History

Jack’s Memory Chapel has been serving Greater Tulsa families since 1948. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

Family Owned and Operated since 1948. Jack's Memory Chapel was established in May 1948, by Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Jackson. They converted their home into a mortuary upon leaving Jackson Funeral Home after a 40 year business relationship. So many people referred to S. M. as "Jack" that he decided to use this endearment as the name of his new funeral home. So began Jack's Memory Chapel.

The new mortuary was opened at 639 E. Marshall Place and continued to operate there until 1976. In 1976 when Mr. Maurice V. Jackson (second generation), Mrs. Eunice Jackson, Mr. James H. Black, and others saw a new vision of expansion to better serve their community and built a new and improved funeral home at its present location of 801 E. 36th St. North.

After thousands of satisfied families, Jack's Memory Chapel is still committed to offering the best service possible. That is why our motto from the beginning has been, "Our Service is Superior".

This year we are celebrating our 70th anniversary. A third generation of Jackson's are still operating the business and hope to continue with the family tradition set forth by Mr. S. M. Jackson. Mr. George A. Riley is the current Funeral Director in Charge and has been a part of the family business for forty-four (44) years.
