February 12, 1944 - November 2, 2009
On February 12, 1944, a beautiful baby girl was born to John and Bertha Ballard in Oklahoma City, Ok. They named her Linda Sue Ballard. She was raised with 12 brothers and sisters. Linda attended school in Oklahoma City, graduating from DunJee High School in 1964.
She moved to Tulsa and raised five children. Linda was faithful to her Lord and family. Come rain, sleet, snow, or sunshine, it was never too bad for her to walk to take care of her parents whom she adored. Linda never met a stranger. She never met a person she didnít like. She had love for everyone.
Linda loved her children and her animals. She also loved cooking for her family and friends. She would help anyone she knew or met.
In 1982, Linda became a member of the Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Wilson M. Pike. She was a faithful member of Sunday School Class #3. She also attended, from time to time with her grandchildren, the First Christian Church where she assisted the Sunday School Teacher, Miss Beverly, as a part of her commitment to the spiritual growth of her grandchildren. In so doing, she was adopted by the First Christian Church, but remained loyal and committed to Galilee her first love.
Even in sickness, Linda was committed and faithful to God, the Church, and her family. She became severely ill and was hospitalized before the Lord and Savior called her home on November 2, 2009.
Lindaís parents, John M. and Bertha Lee Ballard, her brother, Howard Ballard, and her great-great grandchild Marquiveon DeShawn Whatley preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, 5 children; Trevia Hill (Emo Ruff), Teresa (SweetPea) Ballard, Robert Hill (Kecho), Angelia Ballard, Cindy (Lulu) Ballard; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Theophilos Ballard, Theodore Ballard, John Mack Ballard, Rev. Robert Ballard, and Thomas Ballard; 6 sisters, Norma Jean Newton, Mary Allen, Marva Jo Ballard, Ramona Triplet, Martha Jane Ballard, and Brenda Jean Lockett; Rev. Henry Brent and the Galilee Church Family; Rev Jeremy Skaggs and the First Christian Church Family; and Sis. Beverly Vale, Children Ministry Director at First Christian Church; Pastor Carol Lawson; Aunt Minnie Sells, Dorothy Jeffries, Maxine Peagues, a host of relatives and friends, and a very special friend, Sis.
